Thomas Tallis Society David Bednall It was a really excellent concert - marvellous programme that worked SO well, brilliantly performed by singers and instrumentalists, and very well managed by Eamonn Dougan Eammon Dougan, whose speech about the importance of the arts really hit the spot.

The major work in our Christmas concert is the David Bednall cantata “Make we Merry”. David and our conductor Lee were in the same class at Oxford Uni. Here’s an example of his exciting writing for choir and organ (the organist was also in the same class). youtu.be/V0Q806uMkxE?si…

We were very pleased that @Bednallmusic was able to join us on Monday to hear the first performance of the anthem that he wrote especially for the occasion. The organ part is fiendishly difficult, but Colin Druce was of course up to the job! #StPaulsCathedral #ChoralEvensong
