In a nail-bitter vote, the Nevada Assembly just passed the Nevada Studio Infrastructure Jobs and Workforce Training Act which would earmark $95 million in annual film tax credits.

The Nevada Senate just passed a measure that would let DHHS hand out free identification cards to homeless residents of Nevada who do not have a valid ID or driver's license.

Some updates from Clark County on the impacts of Gov. Lombardo's crime bill. The bill could result in over 2,000 new felony cases (that's just from the reduced felony theft threshold) and cost the county over $4.5 million per budget cycle, according to a county fiscal analysis.

Sen. Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro's education bill (SB460) passed out the Assembly tonight, now heading to the Governor's desk for approval. It incorporates parts of Lombardo’s education proposal, like open enrollment policies. It also appropriates $50 million for pre-k.

A heavily amended version of Attorney General Aaron Ford's Youth Online Safety Act (SB63) passed out of the Assembly. It would increase protections around the collection of children's data.

Lombardo's sweeping crime bill passed out of the Nevada Assembly 36-6. The heavily-amended measure would allow Clark County to bar people who committed a crime in certain tourist heavy areas, such as the Strip, for up to a year. It also adds protections for hospitality workers.

As it's past midnight here at the #NVLeg, it appears that the Governor's crime and health care bills are dead, along with the film tax credit expansion efforts.

The ACLU of Nevada just filed a lawsuit against Las Vegas Metro Police for not releasing public records related to cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, such as documents about its 287(g) agreement with ICE.
