For a life long book geek appearing on CSPAN to discuss The Credentialed Court was a bucket list item and a total joy! Susan Swain is the best! Link to the show: c-span.org/video/?518874-…

I have my students to my house for wine and cheese at the end of each semester. Especially pleased to host after the pandemic hiatus.

How are The 6th Extinction and SCOTUS alike? UT prof Barton ⁦Ben Barton⁩ uses empirical data to argue that hyper-elite justices let us all down. (Scalia agreed with him!) Engaging, incisive, fizzy with fresh thinking, it’s a must-read if you care about diversity.

The Stanford Law School Legal Profession Center has been renamed the Deborah L. Rhode Center on the Legal Profession in honor of our colleague, who died in Jan 2021. law.stanford.edu/press/stanford… A fitting tribute.

If you haven’t been paying attention to the Upsolve case in New York please do. It’s not an exaggeration to say it could pave the way for a significant upl rollback and a long overdue a2j revolution.

Super extra grateful for all Bridget Mary McCormack accomplished as Chief Justice and especially for her keen understanding of lawyerless courts. She will be sorely missed.

Hahahaha the law school version is “today’s students are different: lazier, surlier, and distracted.” It comes up at faculty meetings regularly and I groan and remind my colleagues that people our age have always been annoyed by people their age. The kids are alright!
