Emergency Responders (ERs) are #TeamLAS-trained volunteers who attend emergency calls in Service uniform and in blue-light response cars. Benji is on shift today and he filmed this video about the kit in ER cars, before starting his shift #VolunteersWeek

Benji and Lisa attended a road traffic collision and treated the patient with a #TeamLAS paramedic who was also on scene. This saved an ambulance from being needed, an ambulance that can now respond to another patient. #VolunteersWeek #VolunteersWeek2021 x.com/Ldn_Ambulance/…

Like all other #TeamLAS crews responding, our volunteer Emergency Responders wear personal protective equipment - including different types of face masks and aprons depending on the nature of the call - to protect themselves and our patients. #VolunteersWeek #VolunteersWeek2021

Thank you to all in #TeamLAS working hard over this weekend to help Londoners in need. For #VolunteersWeek we've been highlighting the contribution of our volunteer Emergency Responders - such as Software Developer Thibault and medical student Benji who are on shift tonight.

On last night's shift, volunteer Emergency Responders Thibault and Benji treated seven patients. On four of these calls, they were able to arrange alternative transport or safely discharge the patient: which meant ambulances could response to other patients. #VolunteersWeek

Benji Watkins was presented with the Chief Executive’s Award for his outstanding contribution to the Service.

Nathan (Right) is on his first ever shift as an Emergency Responder and is being mentored by experienced ERs Benji (Left) and Michael (Centre). Nathan is one of a handful of new volunteers who have been waiting to start responding with the scheme since early 2020, pre-pandemic.

Benji, Michael and Nathan are working out of Waterloo today. Two patients so far including a category 1 call at a busy central London mainline station where they were first on scene.

Today three of our Emergency Responders took part in a multi-agency water rescue training exercise with Herts Fire & Rescue EEAST Ambulance Service Herts Police Training alongside partner agencies allows us to make sure we’re able to provide the best care for seriously ill and injured patients.

Jordon, Alex and Benji were the first crew on our new #BHER02 car today. Alex is one of the cohort of 20 new ERs joining our pilot in collaboration with EEAST Ambulance Service They attended back-to-back emergency calls in the local area. Car refuelled and washed ready for Day 2 🚑🚨
