Wow! The EP schedule on treaty change has been hugely accelerated, they vote to trigger Article 48 today. The EPP Group has removed most of the legally binding content on EU reforms except for #NoVeto. Ending the Council Veto is the only binding demand for Treaty change left!

European Parliament hopes Czech presidency of EU Council will act where French failed. A simple majority only is required to open treaty revision process. The aim is to allow passerelle clause to be triggered by QMV. Orban helps.

Don’t play games… The European Parliament has triggered Art 48 for targeted and urgent treaty change. The European Council has to act smoothly and swiftly. We need a more workable EU now - drop national vetoes !

It won't take decades but only years for the Council to realize that not starting EU reform when we had the opportunity was a disastrous mistake.
