The lab retreat with my research group was filled with inspiring and fun moments, becoming a treasured memory in my decade-long rich experience Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science. Enjoyed my journey. 😊

For the post lunch session, we had 3 outstanding talks. Mahak Sharma spoke on a very cool host-pathogen interaction study from her lab, Indranil Banerjee spoke about endosomal sorting during viral infections & BENU BRATA DAS (BBD Lab) spoke about novel mechanisms during DNA damage !

This group I love...Amit Tuli Rohan Khadilkar Lipi Thukral Ahuja Lab Mahak Sharma Ravi Manjithaya Anirban Banerjee Rajender Motiani BENU BRATA DAS (BBD Lab) Indranil Banerjee Sandhya Ganesan sheetalgandotra Tamminenilab Nitin Mohan special thanks to Sriram Varahan for all the help. See u soon..

It was an absolute pleasure to visit the Department of Zoology at Burdwan University, my alma mater, and deliver an invited talk. Thanks to Dr. Sumit Hira, a passionate and brilliant faculty member, for the invitation. I enjoyed the day.DSTIndia Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science

Looking forward for the exciting EMBO Workshop 2025: DNA Topology and Topoisomerases in Genome Dynamics (15–19 Sept, SzklarskaPoreba,Poland).. DSTIndia Indian Association for the Cultivation of ScienceDepartment of Biotechnology meetings.embo.org/event/25-dna-t…

It was a privilege to visit the Kusuma School of Biological Sciences, IIT Delhi, and deliver an invited talk. I thanks Dr. Saran Kumar for the kind invitation and for the engaging discussions . I truly enjoyed the enriching discussions. DSTIndia Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science

The third #finalist is Srijita Paul Chowdhuri for her paper "TDP1 phosphorylation by CDK1 in mitosis promotes MUS81-dependent repair of trapped Top1-DNA covalent complexes."

Feeling happy and proud of my graduate student, @Srijita Palchowdhuri, for winning the 3 rd top finalist award of the The TNQ Distinguished Lectures Inspiring Science Award for her outstanding work published in The EMBO Journal . Many Congratulations Srijita Paul Chowdhuri ! DSTIndia Department of Biotechnology Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science

Our recent work in NAR shows a 20-mer peptide can augment DNA damage response by acting as ATM agonist, potentially preventing neoplastic transformation. Great work done by Ritu Agrawal, collaboration with Avinash Bajaj BRIC - National Institute of Biomedical Genomics Department of Biotechnology BRIC-NII 10.1093/nar/gkaf106

Happy to present our work in The EMBO Journal where we show how p53 acts as a transcriptional repressor by directly recruiting DREAM complex in p21-independent manner. Congrats to Ritu Agrawal pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40038454/. Department of Biotechnology BRIC - National Institute of Biomedical Genomics BRIC-NII

Our recent article in Journal of Molecular Biology explores how Post-Translational Modifications (PTMs) orchestrate the repair of trapped Topoisomerase-induced DNA breaks via TDP1 and TDP2. sciencedirect.com/.../pii/S00222… Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science DSTIndia ICMR Department of Biotechnology

Just out in ib journal of Cell Science DISCUSS! Our latest review unravels how mitochondrial topoisomerases safeguard mtDNA, how cells repair mitochondrial damage, and how fission and mitophagy kick in to clear the wreckage—linking it all to human disease. journals.biologists.com/jcs/article-ab…

In their Review, Sangheeta Bhattacharjee and Benu Brata Das BENU BRATA DAS (BBD Lab) discuss the roles of topoisomerases in mtDNA maintenance and repair, and highlight their potential as therapeutic targets. journals.biologists.com/jcs/article/13…
