I am super excited to share our latest work in collaboration with the Schmidt and Bunnett Labs NYU Dentistry. We show that the cysteine protease legumain acts as a novel biased agonist of PAR2 to promote oral cancer pain. 1/ jneurosci.org/content/early/…

So glad we could all come together to celebrate the end of this crazy year and welcome new members to the group. Happy holidays to all from the LEM Lab!

Great to be involved in this project and collaboration. Check out the thread below by Laura Edgington-Mitchell for a taste and the link for more details. Cathepsin S evokes PAR2-dependent pain in oral squamous cell carcinoma patients and preclinical mouse models.

Super excited to see this work out in the world! Congratulations to Laura Edgington-Mitchell Nichollas Scott Dufourlab Alex Ziegler on this new method and incredible findings broadening our understanding of legumain substrates.
