#OnThisDay in 1547 Henry VIII died, aged 55. Not long beforehand he had he entrusted Bethlem Royal Hospital to the City of London. A portrait of Henry was hanging first in the Boardroom of the Hospital at Moorfields & subsequently at St. Georgeโ€™s Fields & now at Monks Orchard.
