There will be overnight lane and footpath closures on Lawley Middleway in both directions from 27 May – 16 June at 8pm to 5.30am for HS2 works. One lane will remain open for traffic and pedestrians will be directed to the footpath on the opposite side of the road.

School children from across the city have gathered at Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum today for a special event marking #CleanAirDay. The pupils are learning about changes they can make to improve air quality, and have put together their own Clean Air Charters.

The northern footway on Lee Bridge between Heath Street and Aberdeen Street is closed until 30 September 2024 to facilitate highway and footway improvements as part of the A457 improvement scheme. A pedestrian diversion is in place, via the southern footway.

We had a fantastic time celebrating #CleanAirDay at the ThinkTank Museum. Pupils from various #Birmingham schools got involved with a variety of activities, including creating their own air pollution monitors and presenting their ideas to clean up the air around their schools.

As part of HS2 construction, key bridges and crossing points will be closed at Aston Church Road and Saltley Viaduct. A public drop-in event to explain travel disruptions in Washwood Heath will take place on Saturday 29 June at 2pm - 4pm in Ward End Library. 🚄
