With universities unable to afford them, clinical academics across the country are being offered redundancy. These are the people who teach our doctors and conduct ground breaking research. More must be done to support them.

We need to encourage more medical students to pursue careers in academic medicine. This is critical at a time when medical academia is facing a workforce crisis. It's time to listen to students, academics, and the stakeholders involved in supporting research delivery. The BMA
