@7StellarJays I saw dozens and dozens of them around the Rodin Museum in Philadelphia today! On many different flowers...including Culver's root and hydrangeas. #waspflower #USA

Flowering plants are attractive to wasps. This is because, wasps feed on the sweet, high-energy nectar produced by flowers #natgeoyourshot #nifcontest2021 #nikon #nikon105macro #nikonphotography #NikonD5600 #BBCWildlifePOTD BBC Wildlife BBC Springwatch #iNaturalist #waspflower

Smart social wasp busy on heather during a @poms survey near Thornhill in Dumfries & Galloway recently. Face looks rather plain but is it D.saxonica? #Pollinator #WaspFlower Prof Seirian Sumner

Aphidiinae are a subfamily of tiny #parasitoidwasps that use aphids as their hosts. When you see it on my finger you get a sense of scale I hope. Wasps are truly fascinating Big Wasp Survey #waspflower BuglifeScotland The British Nature Guide BBC Wildlife

Saw this Field Digger Wasp lumbering along with a very large payload. She crashed into some foliage and obligingly, waited there while I went in for the camera. Manged to fire of a couple of shots before she flew off with her large 'bluebottle' catch. #WaspLove #Wasps #Diptera
