I welcomed bipartisan, bicameral members of Congress this week, loved the duck souvenirs from Tammy Duckworth & enjoyed talks with members of the House Committee on Natural Resources. Energy, supply chains, security & trade remain our focus.

Authoritarian regimes erase history; democracies have a duty to preserve it. Today, we remember those who marched for freedom in Tiananmen Square. Taiwan stands firm with like-minded partners on defending democracy and human rights to ensure a free society for future generations.

I welcomed Shawn Ryan and his team who came to understand firsthand Taiwanese perspectives on our geopolitical challenges. No country is too small to deserve freedom, and thanks for standing with Taiwan.

Just visited our emergency operations center to inspect disaster response efforts for torrential rain in southern Taiwan - especially in areas recently damaged by Typhoon Danas. Swift action to assist residents affected by damaged housing & infrastructure is our utmost priority.

Many thanks again for this message of concern, as southern Taiwan rebuilds following rain, floods, and mudslides. Helping and assisting each other through difficult times is the spirit that brings our people closer together.
