A student told me, "I don't get the difference between model fitting by: 1. minimum Mean Square Error (MSE) and 2. Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE)" To help this student, I built out this #Python Matplotlib dashboard for fitting a Gaussian parametric distribution to data

Are NSC concentrations coordinated with the fast-slow plant economics spectrum? Our new paper provides that NSC concentrations of woody organs, but not leaves, are mostly decoupled from the fast-slow spectrum GEMA UMayor Vicerrectoría de Investigación U. UPDATED: When I teach Principal Component Analysis (PCA), I use my interactive dashboard with my students so they observe how, through an orthogonal transformation (rotation) of a 2-feature dataset, the variance of the data projected onto one of the components can be maximized.
