Our manuscript utilizing a mouse model to study how circulating antibodies affect de novo B cell responses was published yesterday in JVirology Editors. 1/2 journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/jv…

Exciting times at the 9th International #Influenza Meeting in Münster lnkd.in/exSJcMhu Jens presented our computational strategy to prioritize DIPs for novel antiviral treatment design. @ Fadi Alnaji Jan Baumbach CoSy.Bio We are excellent Universität Hamburg Stay tuned!

Paper out! Postdoc Matt Hackbart characterized non-standard viral genomes generated during arenavirus infections and identified prominent S RNA intergenic region deletions that can interfere with expression of the LCMV glycoprotein| mBio journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/mb…

🚨New preprint🚨 In Daniel Weir's first first-author paper, he shows that tubular structures connect #influenza virus infected cells within the lung. It induces these by driving the infected cell into apoptosis, allowing the virus to spread covertly to new cells 🦠🕵️

Are you a guru in RNA or protein biology and looking to expand your horizons into virology? Email me your CV and cover letter to [email protected]

Interested in doing a PhD in virology? Want to capture beautiful micrographs of viruses getting up to things no one has looked at before? Apply for a PhD with the us and the brilliant Robertslab to work on this in MRC-Uni of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research and CRUK Scotland Inst (please RT) gla.ac.uk/colleges/mvls/…

Join me at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine for my seminar next week. A chance to discuss and set up more collaborations within the NUS infectious diseases ecosystem

Recently Johns Hopkins University ran a fantastic series of live online workshops on Visualising Science, but the time difference made it hard to attend internationally. Many thanks to them for now making these workshops available (for free) online! #sciviz #scicomm youtube.com/playlist?list=…

What's going on with bird flu in the UK at the moment? I wrote a piece for The Conversation explaining what we know at the moment, and why it's not (yet) time to worry theconversation.com/bird-flu-cases…

Great time with Arinjay Arinjay Banerjee and Arianna M. Hurtado-Monzón , and Dana from Nolwenn Jouvenet Lab at #WSV2025 in Malaysia, KL

🚨🔎 Out now in PLOS Pathogens! 🔎🚨 This project has taken us MRC-Uni of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research UofG MVLS on a wild and wonderful journey. I am excited to share our story of how influenza A viruses (IAVs) exploit cell death to facilitate its covert spread. N/1 journals.plos.org/plospathogens/…

Incredibly proud of all the trainees and collaborators who came together to complete these interdisciplinary studies. This article by Erin Matthews summarizes our three publications. Take a look. #LoveVirology #LZCI CIHR-III | IRSC-IMII CIHR NSERC / CRSNG news.usask.ca/articles/resea…
