Spending each evening at Praia da Vitoria beach payed off with seeing the Gull-billed Tern again (still present from my last visit in February) & whilst counting & scanning through a flock of 16 BHG’s produced a nice surprise of 3 Bonaparte’s Gull’s (2 adults & 1 2CY)

As promised, a shorter video (saves you 4 minutes to spend birding) with 3 pointers to make your birdwatching more valuable for the monitoring of rare breeding birds

After a string of awesome records from Worth its great that the Estate made the headlines this time with the Western Bonelli's Warbler! Spent 2hr with it singing away this am for a 5s view, sat down for lunch only to be told its now showing well😆 It was worth going for seconds💪

Curlew Sandpiper-Wednesday morning-Normandy Lagoon, Keyhaven & Pennington Marshes, Hants, always good to see this species passing through the Solent in the spring where it is much more regular than in the Thames estuary during their northbound migration to Arctic Tundra of Russia

The same people who shout loudest about “protecting women” are silent when women and girls are deepfaked into porn. This abuse is happening quietly, cruelly and to the most unsuspecting. Thank you British GLAMOUR for letting me share my story👇👇👇 glamourmagazine.co.uk/article/deepfa…

I was really hoping for a Great Snipe on Cyprus, this one that dropped in at Akrotiri Marsh gave great views! A nice new bird for Cathy after missing one on Fair Isle.

Incredibly, there were only two Dunlin reported in Halifax in 2024! TWO! In the whole year! Fortunately, 2025 has been a fantastic return to form, and it was delightful to spend my morning on the moors being serenaded by at least three singing individuals!

Not many words to adequately sum up today! A spring male Pallas’s Reed Bunting was the perfect reminder of what a magic place Fair Isle is, and of the brilliant people I get to share these birds with. 5th for Britain 3rd(!) for Fair Isle Bird Observatory
