I had been planning to visit Cyprus for a while to see the endemic Cyprus Scops Owl but the news of the LESSER MOORHEN made the trip come forward! We had excellent views after an hours nervous wait, what a cracking little bird.

A lovely showy male CITRINE WAGTAIL at Akrotiri Marsh was a nice bonus

Took a while to find a singing male CYPRUS WARBLER - what a beauty! Turns out some of them were already feeding fledged chicks.

Not to be out done by the Cyprus Warblers, Sardinian Warblers were everywhere and almost as smart!

Lesser Moorhen continues its stay at Agia Varvara + 2 Great Snipe 2 White winged Tern reported at Larnaca Sewage Works 2 Whimbrel reported past Cape Greco 2 Spoonbill reported at Akrotiri Marsh + a few Purple Heron, Grey Heron & Glossy Ibis passing through #cyprusbirds

Day 5 Paphos, Weds 4th June. Eastern Olivaceous Warbler in scrubland hedge near hotel ( 2 seen). c10 YLG flying around above Paphos Zoo, more Laughing Dove here and there. Also, a really small cute faced Collared Dove type seen, odd looking, darkish plumage.
