Hi THIS Institute please can you share a link to the published evaluation of the ABC Programme pilot? Thanks (I'm keen to understand the evidence base rationale for national roll-out)

Why did Department of Health and Social Care refuse BMJ's Gareth Iacobucci request re pilot results of RoyalCollegeObsGyn THIS Institute ABC training to avoid brain injury? /1 Jane Plumb 💙 James Titcombe @peeps-HIE Professor Stephen Powis Catherine Williams BirthSmallTalk Sir Jeremy Hunt MP Wes Streeting rcog.org.uk/about-us/quali…

NICE BAPM Which is why focus is shifting "back to basics" and brilliant minds working on newer concepts of Bedside Assessment Stabilisation & Initial Cardiorespiratory Support (intact cord resuscitation) Andrew Weeks Anup Katheria DOI acronym only contribution 6/ pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26191414/

NICE BAPM Andrew Weeks Anup Katheria .. that's why ABC pilot data with its resuscitation events ought to be in public domain. Women, families & clinicians need clarity about what 'works' & Hope for HIE ☀️ beyond likely better outcomes from happy teams in Hawthorne-effected units if clamping less. Thanks Department of Health and Social Care

The same people 'talking' safety but delivering maternity services in more crisis. What happened to evidence, Better Births 2016 & new compensation schemes? RoyalCollegeObsGyn Royal College of General Practitioners Royal College of Midwives 💙 rcm.org.uk/media-releases…

What happened to DH data on ABC pilot (claiming more for cEFM than it can stand), or NICE quality standard on cord clamping (something with 70% reduction death/brain injury in prems)? or continuity, or simple kindness? James Titcombe Catherine Williams BirthSmallTalk

NICE James Titcombe Catherine Williams BirthSmallTalk What's the evidence that 'monstering' MWs, Drs & systems that fail or calling the police will improve outcomes? Continuous improvement is hard (esp when 99% 'saves' already) & CQC/ heavy regulation doesn't 'work' Roy Lilley 💙

NICE James Titcombe Catherine Williams BirthSmallTalk Roy Lilley 💙 But I'm looking forward to hearing more from Wes Streeting Let's hope he's listening to non-conflicted advisors & capable of spotting those who aren't - maybe inc medico-legal vested interests (that depend on conflict) & trainers Margaret McCartney HealthSense NHSResolution

NICE James Titcombe Catherine Williams BirthSmallTalk Roy Lilley 💙 Wes Streeting Margaret McCartney HealthSense NHSResolution Maybe there'll be change, but if not, interesting to ask why Sir Jeremy Hunt MP couldn't push it through as SoS for Health & then as Chancellor of the Exchequer. Its simply not right that the tail (litigation, which outstrips services 3-fold) wags the dog (maternity service provision)
