I'm leaving X on 31/1. Thank you for following. For 11 years I've tried to share my faith and ministry here, but I have grown more uncomfortable that X seeks to divide more than to build up, sink people rather than let them fly. You can find me at Graham Usher.bsky.social

Very appreciative of the welcome this morning at Castel Gandolfo #BorgoLaudatoSi to meet Cardinal Baggio and Fr Durantes, and see the Papal gardens and farm which will showcase Pope Francis’ commitment to the care of our common home.

It was a joy yesterday, as part of an ecumenical church leaders’ pilgrimage, from Norfolk and Waveney, to greet Pope Francis and give him a bowl carved by Brian Wooden from a Diocese of Norwich yew tree. Yew is an ancient tree commonly found in English churchyards.

Ecumenical pilgrimage today included visiting the archaeological excavations of the necropolis under St Peter’s Basilica, praying at St Peter’s tomb, refugee memorial art, and excellent dialogue with Martin Browne OSB at the Dicastery for the Promotion of Christian Unity.

Our pilgrimage concludes with meeting staff at the Dicastery for Integral Human Development with migration and environmental issues being high priorities as we seek life in all its fullness for all. Then to the modern martyrs’ church of St Bartholomew on Tiber island.

Very good to be at Thornham in the Hunstanton and Saxon Shore Benefice this morning, reflecting on being the body of Christ today and praying that God will send them a new vicar. A warm and friendly congregation with lunch afterwards.

"Never shall I forget that night, the first night in camp, which has turned my life into one long night. Never shall I forget that smoke. Never shall I forget the little faces of the children, whose bodies I saw turned into wreaths of smoke beneath a silent blue sky.” - Wiesel

Spent part of today with the Norvic flock! Filming a piece about the Bishop’s Lent Appeal for the Norfolk Charity YANA - which does much to provide mental health support in our rural communities.
