Don’t use Scripture for you to judge others but use it to guide & heal in fraternity. “The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life." (2 Cor 3:6). The Truth of the Word of God spoken in love brings forth life for the Holy Spirit to dwell in us; not judgment, but belonging to Him.

When wronged, choose Christ’s silence over injustice, oppression, persecution and vengeance. “He was oppressed…yet He did not open His mouth." (Isa 53:7). Let Christ's strength also be your strength in silence and praying for those who are against or oppress you.

In His willing obedience to the Father, Jesus suffers crucifixion on the Cross for the sins of humanity. In this He has made redemption possible for all mankind. How lucky we are to have this all-consuming love and gift from the Divine to be His sons and daughters in eternity.

Jesus promises on the Cross to the penitent thief “ today you will be with me in Paradise”. Through God’ s Grace , His Son’s Sacrifice & Rising opened the door of paradise again. What we receive in the Eucharist is but a glimpse of what will be fully lived in the eternal life.

“There can be no peace without freedom of religion, freedom of thought & freedom expression”; his words so wonderfully echoed on his 2021 mission to Iraq in his loving paternal support for us all here. We warmly thank him, think of him, remember him & earnestly pray for him.

Do not rush your prayers; instead pray slowly & profoundly in secret. "Go into your room and pray to your Father." (Matt 6:6). This builds your Christian foundations & your relationship with God. Your prayers are not for showing to others but only to be seen & heard in Heaven.

Let no insult cause you to retaliate, but to do everything in total Christlike humility. “Bless those who persecute you." (Rom 12:14). You are never more like Christ than when you pray for and bless those who hurt and persecute you.

Speak the Gospel more by the witness of how you live your life than through your lips. “Let your light shine before others." (Matt 5:16). The example of your life may be the only witness to Jesus someone sees or reads in their life. Be a true and worthy witness for Jesus.

As Christians, never speak or repeat what does not glorify God. “Let no corrupt talk come out of your mouths." (Eph 4:29) Always use your speech beneficially to build bridges, encourage others, not to corrupt or be negative or to bring others down.

Never accuse anyone as it can ruin lives but always be quick to forgive. “Forgive as the Lord forgave you." (Col 3:13) Forgiveness totally frees you & sanctifies your soul. The accusers, the merciless, those who do not forgive are never free & their loveless souls suffer greatly.

Use your words to unite as one body with each other in love, humility, kindness & patience; not in division as that is of the devil. "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit." (Eph 4:3). Peace is a fruit of the Holy Spirit; this should always be the tone of your voice.

Your silence in anger is not weakness but self-control and maturity. " Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end”. (Prov 29:11) Do not be afraid or anxious as prayers & peace win arguments, not rage. This is what Jesus teaches us; to trust in Him.

Resist self-pity. Speak the truth about your strength in Christ. "I can do all things through Him." (Phil 4:13) You are stronger than you think in hardship & persecution because Christ also gave you the Helper, the Holy Spirit to teach, convict, remind & guide.

We pay our final respects to our dear brother Archbishop Thabet of Alqosh. All felt his zeal for the Church. In his village of Karamles he was the first priest back after the defeat of ISIS. We return him there today to rest nearby our martyr brother, Servant of God, Fr. Ganni.
