So much advice about how to be successful in academia boils down to denying yourself joy. I ain’t here for any of it.

The suicide rate among physicians is the highest among any profession, and more than double that of the general population. Nearly every doctor graduates from residency with some degree of PTSD, and no one wants to talk about it.

Such a beautiful celebration on 15(!!!) new Black doctors graduating from UC Davis. The ancestors are so pleased tonight! So glad they had a safe space to celebrate in their authentic way at the first of many Black Med School graduations to come. Congrats to all you beautiful MDs
