PBF is financing multiple initiatives related to DDR and reinsertion of young people, supporting livelihood training, participation in community peace committees and mental health, including activities specifically focused on women.

Pleased to have key partners of the PBF on the delegation, including Amb Kohli who is a member of the Secretary-General’s Advisory Group on the PBF and a liaison from Morocco as Chair of the Peacebuilding Commission’s Configuration for 🇨🇫 CAR.

Supporting youth engagement in peacebuilding is a priority for the PBF globally. In Central African Republic, we look forward to working with partners in 2025 to design support for the development of a youth peace & security strategy and its early implementation.

🙏 UK at the UN 🇬🇧🇺🇳 for the strong advocacy. As Amb Woodward’s remarks highlight, peacebuilding has long-run payoffs. We need to be investing NOW -even in the midst of polycrisis- in conflict prevention to have peace later. It is short sighted to put off investing in peace.

DPPA/PBSO is very grateful for the support of the Ambassador Stavros Lambrinidis EU for the Peacebuilding Fund. The Euros €€€ are important, but the partnership & alignment of strategies at country level even more so. Like joint aligned strategic framework in CAR between UN, EU, World Bank, AfDB.

Increasing the alignment amongst peacebuilding supporters - in this case the EU and the UN - at country level can make partnership more effective and more efficient. All the more important these days. The United Nations Peacebuilding Fund is grateful for & proud of its partnership with EU.
