Today would’ve been James Baldwin’s 101st birthday — and what better way to kick off Black August than by honoring the legacy of a Black radical truth-teller who spoke boldly, wrote brilliantly, and loved our people fiercely. 👏🏽🖤

Today, we celebrate the birthday of President Barack Obama — a historic leader who served two terms as President (2009-2017) and whose election marked a powerful moment in Black political history.

As we recognize Black August, we honor the historic legacy of George Jackson — a brilliant organizer, writer, and revolutionary who turned the prison walls meant to silence him into a platform for radical resistance.

The price of eggs has more than doubled since 2022 a 100% increase in just three years according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This story isn’t just about eggs. When food, housing & everyday essentials are too damn high it’s Black families who feel the squeeze the most.

Honoring Gordon Parks during Black August reminds us that the fight for Black freedom is waged not only in the streets, but also through culture, storytelling, and truth-telling.
