Yesterday we found out that a BGE inspector falsified safety inspections. We deserve to know if our utilities are safe, especially when BGE uses safety to justify rate hikes. The Council wrote to BGE to get the full report. We will hold a hearing. Baltimore deserves better.

If Baltimore built way more housing and Maryland built way more clean energy, the corresponding price drops in homeownership/rent and energy costs would have a massively positive social impact on Baltimoreans. Thus, we should do those things.

For every $100 increase in rent, there's a 9% in homelessness (2020 US GAO study). Build more housing --> reduce rent --> reduce homelessness
