Well, damn, y'all are perceptive. I'll just say that last awards season was a "whew" that changed me as a writer and sharpened my focus on what I want to accomplish in criticism. And I owe a great deal to the creatives who indulged my questions and led me on my current path.

Because the 90s were marred by a concerted rejection of adult contemporary by mainstream music outlets (RS, EW), despite the genre's outsized popularity. Other notable examples were Michael Bolton and Barbra Streisand (kinda; there were other factors with her).

Probably one of the most charismatic politicians in the party and the powers that be want to saddle us either with an alleged sex pest and a criminal doofus who doesn’t understand how diabetes works.

Going into the replies of someone’s tweet (in this case about the love triangle energy of two films), insulting them, and then blocking them immediately after the tweet should be researched as a potential mental illness.

Can you liberate a village that’s been destroyed? Mstyslav Chernov seeks the answer with 2000 Meters to Andriivka, another sobering account of the Russian-Ukraine war that establishes him as one of our most vital war documentarians. Brutal, unflinching, and achingly honest.

As much as I’d appreciate something mindless and insane after have my heart carved out of my chest by watching the Mstyslav Chernov Ukraine war documentary, I’m gonna let y’all have the Harper’s Bazaar list. Have fun, though!

If Superman brings in crazy ass numbers opening weeekend, someone from WBD will leak a greenlight announcement to the trades by the end of day Sunday, maybe Monday. If it’s middling but has promising runway, it’ll come by the end of summer or early fall.

Given he was behind the HBO Max to Max to HBO Max rebrand debacle that was only saved by the runaway success of The Pitt, he can get bent.

The Pitt tea I’ve been sipping…it’s starting to make sense but also it seems too crazy to be real but also…maybe not? Truly the “whew” of the month.

I feel like most issues with talent would be solved if the powers that be put a little more effort into vetting, because what do you mean a random Twitter can uncover something while scrolling on the toilet, while whole departments who get paid to do the work can't?

What's funny is that I have issues with Lois and Clark's relationship in Superman (I don't think it fully capitalizes on the incredible chemistry between David and Rachel), but this is a meaningless nitpick that only someone engaging in bad faith would latch onto.

I made an assumption and Josh Harding and I ended up having a fruitful discussion in the replies that was more nuanced than we all don't often allow for ourselves on here. But it is possible!
