Presumably it's easier on your conscience to imagine there wasn't a massive team effort from the volunteers, their families & industry behind the BBP & that every one of them was treated appalingly. As for the public, you should see our inbox this week.

The support in Newcastle is immense. Tyneside remains indignant at how BBP has been treated & every metric on our website, X & YouTube account has spiked this week.

It's all our work. We researched & commissioned the CAD then gave RM permission to use it. They could've just accepted our offer of a free canopy but chose the long way around so let's see how they get on with our data. This had better be good because ours was perfect!

Part 2 of Ems and me at the Goodwood Festival of Dust is on YouTube. But did she really steal that Sharpie? Bill youtu.be/RITioAVgGAg?si…

Of course it's easy to get a new one off the shelf. You simply call the experts who know exactly how to do it and say, please can we have a perfect canopy. What a dumb statement.

Sean Carroll The Bluebird Project Nobody is missing the point, we simply don't agree with your opinion. The fact is everything changed at Bute. The museum saw the potential to make a windfall from K7. The boat was nominally operational, so in their view the BBP was now dispensable. It's that simple.

An old one. The original recovered HP fuel control still in the 'on' position placed there by DMC on the morning of 4th Jan 67. We built the new one so the old one could remain on forever as a small monument to one man's bravery.

It is indeed & the iroko tool is still used around the workshop. We only did the shells. Clever Barry did everything else, internals, engraving, crinkle finish etc. Just another who has received zero recognition from those who owe him & his like huge gratitude.

20 years ago today we stared into the ruins of K7's hydraulic & electrics bay and wondered what, if anything could be saved. As it happened we saved more than we lost. Checkie rebuilt the electrics & Clever Barry took on the intricate insides of the hyd valves.

Doddy's hammer. He used it on K7 by the shores of Ullswater before the first record was broken then again a lifetime later as part of the BBP. Another (as yet) unsung & un celebrated craftsman who worked to rebuild K7. Twice! Sadly he didn't live to collect the recognition due.

Before & after. The fairing from around K7's steering linkage on the transom. We named it 'the pie tin' & it was used 100% after being straightened. Nothing added, nothing taken away. It was a pain to straighten, though.

Thanks... we're still doing stuff while we watch & wait with the big blue boat. If you've not seen the latest goings on in the workshop check out the YouTube channel. youtube.com/@thebluebirdpr…

Unbeknown to many is that K7 is full of little tongue in cheek messages from BBP to future historians, should they go looking. Most would need a boroscope to see and the removal of a thousand rivets to get at but they are in there as part of our lasting legacy.

It's been on the list for quite a while and now it's made it to the top. Our new merch is incoming, this time with the RS200 emblem. Looking good. 👍

Disrespectful! 🤣🤣 If we'd drawn a c*ck & b*lls on the instrument panel it couldn't be more Disrespectful than what's been done this past year & a half!

We had a big & great fun team effort on the RS200 tub at the weekend too. Alby has almost finished re-coring the front of the sill & the rest of the gang has hot the plank well on its way.
