Off and on thunderstorms continue into Saturday as a low pressure system moves into South Carolina. Rain chances will go down into next week as it moves farther north and over land.

The small low pressure east of Florida has become Tropical Depression 3. It will be a brief, weak storm before drifting into South Carolina Saturday. The next name on the list is 'Chantal'.

SAT. AM UPDATE: Tropical Storm Chantal is located in the Atlantic Ocean with maximum sustained winds 40 mph. It's moving north at 2 mph. It's expected to move across the coast of South Carolina Sunday morning.

Tropical Storm Chantal is closing in on the SC coast with 50 mph winds. It will be over land Sunday daytime. 2 to 4 inches of rain is expected in Northern SC and Southern NC. Diane Kacmarik

11 AM Sunday tropical update: Chantal is now a tropical depression as it moves into North Carolina. Heavy rain will lead to a risk of flooding in North Carolina and there is a high risk of rip currents at the beaches along the east coast. This is the final advisory.
