It's our 330th birthday today! πŸŽ‚ The Bank's Royal Charter was signed on this day in 1694 at Powis House, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London. A few hours later, the Bank's Court of Directors met for the very first time at the nearby Mercer's Hall, Cheapside.

The foundation stone for the Bank of England's Threadneedle Street building was laid #OTD in 1732. Designed by architect George Sampson, this narrow building had the public rooms towards the front, with private offices arranged around the courtyard at the back.
