New #Cas9 variant makes #genome editing even more precise: researchers Max Planck Society Universität Halle (inaktiv) develop more specific #CRISPR-Cas9 gene scissors mpg.de/14538884/new-c…

New highly specific Cas9 variant (R63A/Q768A) out Nature Chemical Biology. Congrats to all co-authors! nature.com/articles/s4158…

Our first #CRISPR screening paper is out! We identify X-chromosomal genes that drive sex differences in embryonic stem cells. Congratulations to Oriana Genolet and everyone else who contributed Anna Alessandra Monaco Michael Boettcher! For Tweetorial see thread below. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Today we report the continuous evolution of ABE8e, a new adenine base editor that is ~600x faster than previous ABEs, enabling compatibility with all 8 tested Cas9 and Cas12 variants, and much more efficient editing, including at therapeutic targets. (1/2) drive.google.com/file/d/11wRpf_…

Our lab's recent work on harnessing RNA-targeting CRISPRs for forward transcriptomic screens in human cells is now published Nature Biotechnology. We hope this platform will be of broad utility for geneticists and biologists with applications for diverse phenotypes and diseases.

Fantastic work by my colleague, Mikolaj. Congrats Mikołaj Słabicki!!!

We are recruiting! #ERC-funded PhD (+postdoc) positions available in 2021 in #Berlin MPI for Molecular Genetics. Apply through our #IMPRS-BAC #PhD program. Computational and/or experimental projects available. Max Planck Society European Research Council (ERC)

Please join us for an in-person seminar with Adrianos Skaros at the University of Halle-Wittenberg, this Wednesday at 4 pm.
