The new herpesfolds.org is online! We completely revamped the website and database for smoother browsing! Have a look at proteome-wide herpesvirus structural predictions and all possible PPIs! Thanks to Malte Kansy and Tim Soh!

We made herpesfolds for all pox-virologists :-) poxfolds.org. Proteome-wide predictions of MPOX, VACV, and VARV in a handy cheat-sheet homology table, as well as structure-based clustering! MPOX all against all PPI predictions will follow soon! Thanks to Tim and Malte

We ran a complete in-silico protein interaction screen of the monkeypox proteome (MPXV_USA_2022_NY002) using AlphaFold. Have a look at the interactive PPI network poxfolds.org/poxppis.php All data is open source and can also be downloaded at zenodo

We have a PhD position open! Please apply if you are interested in proteome-wide interaction networks of large DNA viruses and target them with in-silico-designed protein binders. Our colleagues have many more fascinating projects. Check them out at rtg-vision.de/projects-2nd-c…

About 1,5 years ago I predicted in a little writeup for the ExC RESIST that ever more capable LLMs will soon make scientific review articles obsolete. From the initial results I have from #OpenAIs #DeepResearch, this is happening very soon…

We have reached a point where we can use an AI tool to write 95% of a doctoral thesis that meets the requirements of a degree. Inevitably, this raises numerous questions, the most pressing being: what is a PhD still worth when anyone can have their thesis written almost
