This is a turning point: I just proved a complex math result useful for my research using an LLM. I am not sure if I should be happy or scared...

Something I recently learned: the fundamental theorem of calculus holds for convex non-differentiable functions too (From Jean-Baptiste Hiriart-Urruty and Claude Lemarechal, "Fundamentals of Convex Analysis")

I have an opening for a post-doc position: I am looking for smart people with a strong CV in optimization and/or online learning All my ex post-docs (Kwang-Sung (Kwang) Jun, Mingrui Liu, and El Mehdi SAAD) became assistant professors, I'd like to continue this trend 😉 Please share it!

I highly recommend Francesco Orabona! I learned a lot during my postdoc in his group—not only about research, but also about navigating the academic job market, writing clear and impactful papers, and mentoring students. Feel free to contact me: I'm happy to share my experience!

i delayed one year of starting my tenure track position and did postdoc with him. it was super rewarding and what I learned is still trickling down! I am open to chat about my experience so feel free to reach out to me as well.

Mark Schmidt I agree with all said. I think AC should also read the paper. I just heard that NeurIPS starts to let PhD students to do AC work. How can we ensure we have high quality decision?
