A great way to understand Earth's atmosphere is by testing our theories on other planets. One of the most exciting papers I've ever written, published today: Polar Vortices in Planetary Atmospheres - it also has the coolest figure I've ever made👇agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.10… 1/4

Awesome new paper on African hydrology in the Eocene by Charlie Williams . Part of the #DeepMIP special issue in AGU_Paleo . Love this figure which shows the effect of inverting paleorotations to better interpret the proxy data. agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…

Awesome time at the Bristol BBC #PrehistoricPlanet premiere. University of Bristol Alex Farnsworth, Paul Valdes and The Open University Bob Spicer caught up with the fantastic BBC Studios & Apple TV team we worked with for over 3 yrs. Still surreal to see your name in the credits!🦖 🧵1/n

To finally see the first two espisodes in their complete form was an out of this world experience. Hopefully this will inspire the next generation of paleontologists and paleo scientists like Walking with Dinosaurs did for me. 2/n

I also want to say that it has been humbling to let science tell the story in #PrehistoricPlanet. Cannot stress this enough, the questions asked/story lines proposed by the BBC Studios team really pushed boundaries generating new exciting scientific discoveries for us as well 3/n

Very humbled, and happy, to have just accepted a 2 year lectureship at @GeogBristol, as Lecturer (Level C) in Earth System Modelling. It's only part-time, but for the rest of my time I have some equally exciting research grant news that I'm not yet allowed to share - more soon!
