That's a wrap on our #OxBFRBConf. I'm so grateful to everyone who organised, ran, catered, filmed/covered, funded, sponsored, spoke and attended both our scientific day at Oxford University Museum of Natural History and our community day at the University of Oxford's Oxford Psychiatry.

This event was different from a regular scientific conference. The Oxford and BFRB UK & Ireland teams were ambitious about the scientific programme, while also ensuring that our long-neglected BFRB community were front and centre.

And boy were we ambitious! We had an incredible, international, cast of speakers, on Day 1, and we covered a lot of ground in pursuit of understanding why some people pick, pull and bite at their hair, skin and nails. It's a puzzle of many pieces, and we made progress.

BFRB UK & Ireland, thank you so much for warmly welcoming me into your family this weekend. I am still processing all of the amazing moments and connections. You undoubtedly changed lives and the ripples of that will go on and on. #LivedExperienceLeadership at it's very finest 🙌

Can you help us get this research right? We don't have good information about how many children are struggling with BFRBs like hair-pulling, skin-picking, nail-biting etc. This is a chance to get information from a very large no of people across England.

Someone heckles Keir Starmer about the mass slaughter of children in Gaza. Starmer laughs and suggests he got his pass from the 2019 Labour conference. Genuinely vile behaviour.

I'm at a point in my life where I would consider ending any relationship, even one with my family, if someone attempts to label the situation in Gaza & Palestine as a 'humanitarian crisis'. Dr. Tania, Bravoo

This week we're delving into the fascinating world of Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours or BFRBs. Many of us are affected by these behaviours - hair pulling, skin picking, and nail biting, but there is huge stigma and shame around them buff.ly/3ZCN7Q6
