The 1,475 Giants have arrived. ❤️ The Standing with Giants installation will be at the Memorial until mid-September and is free to visit.

Installation of the Standing with Giants silhouettes began today. What a sight to see the first Giants back in place with Gold Beach behind them. ❤️

Day by day, more Giants appear across the meadows of the Memorial site. This year, there are roughly 200 new silhouettes, including radio operators, medics, & a Scotsman playing the bagpipes. We look forward to welcoming visitors to see the completed installation from 12 April.

Welcome to Spring Summer 2025 at the Memorial. In addition to the reopening of the Winston Churchill Centre for Education & Learning, the Standing with Giants installation is now complete, featuring new silhouettes and a permanent tribute to mark #VEDay80.

As crowds lined The Mall, the deep, unmistakable drone of the Lancaster bomber swept over London. A tribute to the heroes of the Second World War. The #VEDay80 flypast was a moving salute to all those who served. A reminder that their spirit lives on in the Armed Forces today.
