Am so excited about our recent Nature Communications paper visualising, in operando, sodium plating in sodium ion batteries, for the first time, by 23Na MRI (rdcu.be/b3RvV) with Energy Materials Group (Birmingham) @claire_chem Magda Titirici SPMIC Joshua Bray

Material for lithium-ion batteries is in limited supply. As we evaluate alternative tech, how do we "see inside" to improve safety and closer match performance of Li-ion devices? An exciting collaboration, and the best MRI work of my professional life. rdcu.be/b3RvV

Just attended the online funeral for my PhD supervisor, Les Sutcliffe. Very sad but can rejoice in his full and long life. A superb researcher and patient teacher. I am enormously grateful for everything he taught me and the support and encouragement he gave me.

Really sad news about the passing of Ken Packer. He was a giant in the field of magnetic resonance. I am enormously grateful for the encouragement he gave me as a postdoc in UoN Chemistry.

Had a great time visiting CNRS Orleans for CEMHTI-CNRS Deakin IFM student Dani Kourati's PhD thesis defence. Great job Dani! Who knew you were a fan of Birmingham football team Aston Villa!
