This is the end of an era. CTA has been proud to host the Brussels Briefings for many years to bring together farmer organisations, policy and private sector. This marks the end of CTA, but we hope our work will be taken forward - says CTA Director, Michael Hailu

'Personally I have always enjoyed the Brussels Briefings'- emphasises Michael Hailu CTA as he thanks Isolina Boto and acknowledges the commitment of #development partners and the opportunity to #network to takes things forward

Live: #BBFutureFarming Marissa Ryan of Oxfam International Smallholder producers do not receive adequate recognition or political & financial support. Public policy often biased towards industrial large scale agriculture means smallholders often do not receive fair prices.

Live: #BBFutureFarming Marissa Ryan; Inequality in our global food system is blatant, with decision making & power concentrated in the hands of a small elite of government & corporate interests, & too often denied both to the hundreds of millions of small-scale food producers

#BBFutureFarming; Marissa Ryan On the #ACP-#EU partnership on agriculture, recommends Adopting a cautious approach when cooperating with the private sector; gather more evidence to assess what development impacts can be achieved through blended finance.

#BBFutureFarming; Marissa Ryan concludes by advocating a need to work towards environmental sustainability and social innovation connecting food production and consumption, with strong support for locally adapted solutions based upon participation of local people.
