More money for developers with no strings attached on rent control. They get the land, the financing, GST cancelled, all in the name of more supply & "affordable rents" The key questions: What is going to be the rent in these buildings? Who can afford them?

Throwing more money for developers is going to do nothing to resolve sky-rocketing rents. Make any funds conditional on having full rent control; or build it yourself (as in a real public builder, not some private-public partnership bs)

A tenant win that keeps on giving! In 2020, during the pandemic, the new landlord tried to renovict Glenn, Thamina & Sue. They resisted and won. 2 weeks ago, the landlord tried for an AGI. Tenants resisted & won again, with the landlord withdrawing the application!

This case also shows the connections between labour & tenant unions. Glenn is a member of Unifor, Thamina belongs to UNITE HERE Local 75 & Sue is part of CUPE Local 79 While workers fight for unions at work, they are also creating unions at home ✊️
