Increasingly annoyed every time a button in some form or app won't let me give a proper final "no" and forces me to opt for "not today", "maybe next time", "maybe later", etc. instead. It's inconsequential but it starts to feel really icky after the umpteenth time.

at this point smart people getting really interested in optimizing online ads or narrowing the spread on some financial instrument ever so slightly seems much less tragic to me than smart people turning into tasteless and shameless grifters

Overthinking is misnamed. If you actually sat down to write all the thoughts you've had about the thing you're "overthinking", you likely would not clear one page.
