138 grade 9s and 10s from Bayridge SS jammed the cafeteria today to participate in the ً Beaver Computing Contest. Another 964 students in grades 4-8 were supported by BSS Computer Specialist students while doing it at their elementary schools. Pretty cool.

In 2017, 4 students participated in the CEMC Canadian Computing Competition. Yesterday, we had 50 Bayridge SS students pack room 140 to give it their best shot. Truly amazing growth. So happy to see so many awesome young people taking on these challenges.

Congratulations to the 16 students who competed at Bayridge SS in the Limestone Skills coding challenge today! Six straight hours creating an inventory/customer database system for a fictional pizza store. When these kids get wired in, lookout!!! Limestone District School Board

How does a HS kid go from commentating Bayridge SS games, to covering KASSAA major events, and now doing colour for the Ontario University Athletics Canadian National title basketball game, watched by thousands nationwide? At this pace, Jacob may be doing the Stanley Cup finals in June!

BSS hosted a coding competition in the library today - 31 teams from BSS, HC, SHS, NDSS, St. Theresa, and Eastside competed for compu-glory. Congrats to all the teams, especially our own Bronze & Gold winners! Bayridge SS Computer Science
