Last week, BST students on the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (International Award) took on their Bronze & Silver practice hikes. These multi-day adventures were more than just scenic treks, they challenged students' resilience, self-discipline, and both teamwork and independence.

Congratulations to Amaterasu for winning this year’s House Singing Competition! The inter-house rivalry brought an electric energy to the room as students sang their hearts out, showcasing talent, teamwork, and house pride in the battle for the House Singing trophy.

Last week, BST Year 7 students presented their own health campaigns in a dynamic Health Showcase sharing TED-style talks, covering topics like nutrition, sleep & mental wellbeing, allowing students to explore science through real-world issues that affect their daily lives.

BST Primary is preparing for its final in-school celebration of Japanese culture: Tanabata. Students were invited to reflect on the past year, look ahead to the future & write a wish on colourful tanzaku strips to hang from the branches of the BST Tanabata Tanzaku Trees 🎋

Last week, BST Years 7-9 welcomed a professional Kabuki troupe for a special cultural event. The troupe delivered an authentic live performance, offering students a unique opportunity to explore the beauty, history, and expressive power of this iconic Japanese art form.

This week, students on the BST Hong Kong Choir Tour embarked on a musical journey; from singing at St John’s Cathedral in Hong Kong and performing in Macau Cathedral, students have proudly represented BST every step of the way. Thank you Cathay Pacific for sponsoring the event!

BST is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Paul Bannister as the new Head of Primary, commencing August 2026. Mr Bannister brings over 25 years of leadership experience in both UK and international education. We look forward to welcoming Mr Bannister from August 2026.

Yesterday the BST Secondary Awards Ceremony took place; a joyful celebration of student achievement, with awards presented recognising student's outstanding success across a range of academic subjects. The evening was a proud reminder of the perseverance shown by BST students.

The final BST Primary 'Urban Farming' club session of the year was a huge success, with the rooftop briefly turned into a mini farmers’ market before students packed up their produce to take home. A wonderful conclusion to a hands-on learning experience rooted in sustainability.

Over the past 2 weeks, BST Y11 Taiga (proud Lions Cricket Club player) represented Japan playing in the inaugural Mens Under 16s Asian Cricket Council East Zone tournament in Kuala Lumpur! Taiga is the fourth successful BST student to represent Japan. Congratulations Taiga!
