It feels v important that we hold to account not only the thugs smashing windows on our high streets, but also the mainstream media, politicians and commentators whose relentless and unfeeling hostile noise on immigration created the conditions in which fascists feel emboldened.

What makes you do something differently? And keep doing it, even when it's tough? A business case is necessary, but rarely enough. There's so much power to be unleashed when the head & the heart are in the same place, but it's hard to talk about feelings at work. Worth it though.

I have never forgotten & will never forget leading an internal investigation into a homicide conducted by a patient at the MH Trust where I was a director. Decommissioning the Assertive Outreach team (badly) was a key factor. This thread sets out such important learning.
