5/7 13:10 : 30 Common Crossbill : Great Hampden.

5/7 14:29 : Mediterranean Gull : College Lake. One on east island with the black headed gulls.

5/7 15:45 : 70 Common Crossbill : Great Hampden. A highly mobile flock of at least 70 birds in the Great Hampden Estate area, feasting on Larch cones. Silent at times before they all explode into loud 'jipping'.

5/7 16:40 : 40 Common Crossbill : Great Hampden. At least 40 birds in flight and calling in larches down track from church.

6/7 10:01 : ad Black-tailed Godwit : Foscote Manor, Foxcote Res. Summer plumage.

6/7 12:00 : ad s/p Black-tailed Godwit : Foxcote Res. On dam but surprisingly elusive in vegetation at far end from viewing point. I assume this is Paul Gomersall's bird which was here rather than Foscote Manor as recorded.

6/7 14:28 : 19 (mixed flock) Common Crossbill : Hampden House SP841030.

6/7 8:00 : 7 Black-tailed Godwit : Little Marlow GP. s/p islandica birds feeding on east side of spit. Flew off at 08:50 and probably the same birds arrived at Dinton Pastures, Berks to the south 20 mins later.

6/7 10:30 : 60 Common Crossbill : Great Hampden. Approximate 60 birds in one flock which split in two going In different directions. A smaller group returned a little later but very mobile.

CORRECTION - 6/7 10:01 : ad Black-tailed Godwit : Foxcote Res (not Foscote Manor, Foxcote Res). Summer plumage.

7/7 14:51 : 80 Common Crossbill : Wendover Woods. Large numbers present and part of a very large invasion of the area, with a widespread arrival of flocks in neighbouring Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

9/7 19:48 : 6 Common Crossbill : Hampden House. 6 flew in to north side larch wood north of Hampden house. 2 seen feeding on cones.

9/7 8:28 : 13 Common Crossbill : Great Brickhill. 6 flew over garden calling at 0828hrs heading NW followed by a group of 7!which flew in from the SE circled round and then landed in pines by Pochard Lake.

12/7 7:45 : 20 Common Crossbill : Great Hampden. At least one flock of 20 in the woods beyond the house.

8/7 6:15 : Cattle Egret : Little Marlow GP. Juv flew in to the spit at 06:15. Flew to east side of island and still present when I left.

13/7 8:30 : Common Crossbill : Egypt Woods. At least one over calling.

13/7 13:56 : 30 Common Crossbill : Great Hampden. At least 30 still in larches past church.

13/7 9:40 : 15 Common Crossbill : Rushmere Park. Approx circled around the clearfell area then appeared to come down in pines in the middle of Oak Wood.
