Happy 100th birthday to James Flowers. He flew operations as a rear gunner with 50 Squadron from RAF Skellingthorpe. International Bomber Command Centre ibccdigitalarchive.lincoln.ac.uk/omeka/collecti… NeverMindTheDambusters

Just finished the audiobook of The Weimar Years by Prof. Frank McDonough - the last volume of an absolutely superb trilogy by Prof. McDonough. Thoroughly recommend - terrifying to listen to the story of such a proud nation cutting its own throat. Lessons for our own time.

Hoping from some help! I need to find out how many Luftwaffe nightfighters moonlighting as rocket-firing day fighters were destroyed by long range US fighters in the first 4 months of 1944 - there is a reason for this! Would be grateful for any pointers 🙏 The Mighty Eighth Podcast

If you have a spare 15 minutes, listen to this. Ed Murrow’s report from a Lancaster of RAF Bomber Command raiding Berlin in the autumn of 1943, one of the 25 combat missions he flew. It is such powerful stuff. americanrhetoric.com/speeches/edwar… WW2 Pod: We Have Ways of Making You Talk

Been at TNA today to look at more nightfighter archives - amongst the Luftwaffe interrogation reports from March 1945 was this gem from Johann Kogler, CO of JG/6. Looks like Hajo Herrman wasn’t the superstar pilot he has been painted! James Holland Al Murray 🇺🇦 WW2 Pod: We Have Ways of Making You Talk
