Golden plover usually feed inland at night, but during cold snaps like this, the fields they feed in will be frozen solid. Seeing them feeding on our beaches is a sign that they are very hungry, and this means we need to be extra careful to give them space to forage undisturbed.

We have big plans for this year, including more clobber, fundraising, podcasts and hopefully blog posts. Badges too! We’d love to build GGC as a community/club for people to feel a part of and contribute to.

NEW PAPER: Ever wondered why insects fly in all sorts of crazy patterns around lights at night? So did we! We set about recording flying insects to work out what's going on. I'll summarise what we found in this 🧵. Spoiler: We don't think they confuse lights with the moon.
