Sad to say I'm leaving WIRED after what feels like just a blip. It was a fun blip, and spent in the company of truly great colleagues. And of course, I loved the stories I got to publish, the big ones and the small wacky ones—and all from writers I count myself lucky to know.

I'm no longer WIRED. I was the luckiest to land there out of college and have freedom to build beats and write big features on a truly boggling array of topics. Excited for what's next. For now, that's freelancing (unless this industry magically starts hiring)...

I'm sorry to say that after two years at WIRED I've been laid off along with many of my beloved and talented colleagues. I'm so grateful to have worked with journalists and editors who are the very best at what they do, and I am truly going to miss them.

Personal news, as they say, but not the happy kind. Just want to thank the wonderful WIRED crew. It was an honor. Hiring managers, please snap up my colleagues who are also impacted. Absolutely brilliant, kind, funny journalists who welcomed me warmly to the WIRED family. 🫡
