This morning Year 6 were visited by the Fire Service who talked about safety in the home. They also took us on a tour of the fire engine.

Reception have been naming, touching, looking at, smelling and tasting different fruits and vegetables this week. Lots of us were surprised to learn that peppers and pumpkins are fruits because they contain seeds! #CBvalues #perseverance

Year 1 have been busy exploring how to give commends to robots this week. We played a guessing game to see which command a friend had given the beebot.

We’re so excited about how well our crops are growing! 🌱 Our Eco Team has been busy weeding and watering the onion and potato beds. Soon, we’ll be digging them up—and enjoying them at lunchtime! 😃

Reception had a wonderful time at Valley Farm this week, learning about where our food comes from as well as how to look after chicks, sheep and horses. We can't wait to see the chicks again in a few weeks! #CBvalues #perseverance

Y3 had their 1st visit by local artist Caroline Coates today! They thought about different types of art, such as painting and sculpture & explored jobs that are creative, like fashion designer, animator & architect. They're looking forward to next week! Tameside Council

Year 6 have had a wonderful morning at Manchester Cathedral. We have reflected on the power of prayer, what an amazing time we've had at primary school and thought ahead to year 7.

And now it's time for Pizza Express!

A huge thank-you to Community Computers and Tameside Council who have provided some of our children with laptops to help with their homework.

Year six had an interesting and insightful workshop this morning with a Tameside Magistrate. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. We are really looking forward to our next session 👩‍⚖️👨‍⚖️

It was fabulous to see our Reception children and families taking part so enthusiastically in their sports day today. The children showed lots of #perseverance, #friendship, #hope and courage as they tried their best and cheered their friends and families on! #CBvalues

We started our 'Healthy body; healthy minds' week by researching the job role of a physiotherapist. We found out that they help people manage pain, and increase movement after an illness or injury. We will be finding out more as the week goes on 🏥

We have had a wonderful sports day today. The children have shown determination and courage. Thank you to all families who came out to support them 👏🏻

Year 1 have had a fabulous trip to Manchester Jewish Museum. We explored the synagogue and made our own Challah bread. We also looked at Journeys of Jewish people from the last 200 years and the reasons they came to England. The staff were impressed with the knowledge of the children.

Last week Year 1 had a brilliant time reflecting on the Parable of the Lost Sheep during Wiggle Worship. The children wrote messages of thanks to God for leading them on the right path when they may have strayed.

The Nursery children have been learning all about Healthy Eating this morning. We have been learning about the different types of food we should eat and how much of each food we need to make our bodies healthy and strong.

Reception have demonstrated their cutting and slicing skills this week as they have worked together to make vegetable soup - carrot, potato, onion, asparagus and broccoli were the most popular vegetables so that is what we used! It tasted yummy! #CBvalues #perseverance
