Today, I’m supporting the nationwide day of action calling on the richest to #PAYUP. Billionaire wealth has increased 1000% since the 1990s. There is no excuse to plunge thousands into poverty through cuts and underfunding. The money is there - time to tax it fairly.

šŸ“ 650 letters, one message: it’s time for #REALChange. šŸŒ Chef and campaigner Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall led a coalition of scientists, business leaders and activists to deliver open letters from every UK constituency to Keir Starmer—urging him to bring back the #CANBill for a debate and vote.

Since being elected as Bristol Central's first Green MP a year ago, I've been asked lots of questions about what it's like! So I've tried to answer a few here - from the best, worst and weirdest parts of working in Parliament to the most famous people I've met...

Absolutely horrific watching the death toll from the Texas floods rise. Thinking of all those whose loved ones have been killed or are still missing. With extreme weather on the rise everywhere we need to ensure our communities are prepared or we'll see more tragedies like this

On 9 July, I’ll be meeting constituents in Westminster for #ActNowChangeForever - a mass lobby calling for practical action on climate, nature and fairness. I’m proud to stand up for the future we all want to see.

šŸ’š Greens have led the calls for a wealth tax. šŸ¤ Now former Labour leader Neil Kinnock and leading unions have joined us. āš–ļø Looking to balance the books on the backs of the poorest has backfired. It’s time for Labour to make our tax system fairer.

In case you missed it, the government is now overruling the outcome of local referendums in Bristol and Sheffield, imposing its opinion on how local councils should work, directly against the democratically expressed will of those communities themselves.

Absolutely horrific. We are watching ethnic cleansing and genocide happening in broad daylight, in real time. Our govt has a duty to prevent genocide - and yet is still selling arms to Israel. The UK's complicity must end.

Are Starmer and Reeves finally about to take their heads out of the sand and admit that taxing wealth fairly is a much better idea than cutting support for disabled people?

Wildfires burning in Marseilles, extreme heat costing lives - and yet politicians are stalling on the vital action we need for a safe future. Keir Starmer will you push Macron to commit to climate targets when you meet today?

When… 1 in 5 people on UC and disability benefits used a food bank last month. The Disability price tag is Ā£1,095 a month. The basic rates of UC don’t cover essentials. A #WealthTax could address our deeply unequal society. We must do better than this Bill. #TakingThePIP

Hi Keir Starmer just dropped off some reading material for you. Despite what you keep claiming our manifestoĀ is fully costed and it shows how we can invest in schools & hospitals, climate action and support for the most vulnerable.

This week I called for a ban on fossil fuel advertising. In the UK we forbid tobacco ads because smoking kills us. But air pollution caused by fossil fuels and extreme weather caused by climate change are already killing as many as smoking was when tobacco and ban came in.

Yesterday thousands of people came to Westminster to speak up for a safe climate, warm homes, clean air, and thriving nature. I was proud to meet lots of my constituents at the #ActNowChangeForever mass lobby!

This week I urged MPs to be on the right side of history. We look back on the tobacco ad ban as a no-brainer and vital to protecting our health - so why do we still allow fossil fuel giants to spend millions hiding the harmful effects of their products? desmog.com/2025/07/07/com…

Scary to see extreme heat become the norm in the UK - this will cost more and more lives. What is govt doing to protect us from these effects of climate change that are already with us? And how can they justify giving go-ahead to airport expansion which will worsen the crisis?
