In my experience, it is almost impossible to get people who have not worked in law or finance to understand how something could require you to work 20 hours a day for several days in a row, working all weekend, etc.

It is surreal reading this article from 2006 on how the U.S. let companies working with rare earths and built up with Pentagon funds be purchased by China and literally picked up and moved there. The Chinese did this 20 years ago and literally no one did anything about it.

I think Trump is going to win the tariff cases. Congress has indeed delegated immense authority over tariffs to the president and it doesn’t violate any reasonable version of the nondelegation doctrine (which may not even be alive).
