Today we report new #deeplearning approaches for functional #proteindesign. We use these to generate immunogens, receptor traps, metalloproteins, enzymes, and binder proteins. We validate the designs using in silico and lab tests. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Our Institute was founded ten years ago with a small team and a big vision. Now both are larger than ever! Thank you to everyone who helped make this first decade so much fun. Here's to many more 🎉

Good stuff! I was glad to hear Carson Gido talk about the revolution Google @DeepMind’s #alphafold has brought to #biotech but how it has limitations, and hear @dawsonwagnertv reflect how #OpenSource facilitates #transparency but cannot alone eliminate #AlgorithmicBias. #ML #AI

The latest work from our group is out in Journal of Biological Chemistry! K-State BMB undergrad and K-State Cancer Research awardee Carson Gido solved 5 crystal structures, and identified two different #neutrophil protease binding sites in a family of #staph immune evasion proteins. jbc.org/article/S0021-…

Ever hear of a single protease inhibitor blocking two different enzymes at the same time? Have a look at our most recent paper in Journal of Biological Chemistry where we show simultaneous inhibition of #elastase and #cathepsin-G by the #staph immune evasion protein, EapH2. jbc.org/article/S0021-…

Eaps inhibit multiple NSPs simultaneously: 🤯 Read about these very cool and powerful protease inhibitors in the latest paper from the Geisbrecht lab. Very lucky to have been a part of this project!!!!
