Today we opened our two day Optical Biology Symposium at ChampalimaudF along with UCL PhD students! Highlights of the day included keynote talks on modern imaging approaches, a tour of ChampalimaudF, and a fruitful poster session from students from the three institutes!

Day 2 of the Optical Biology Symposium @IGCiencia, what a day! We opened with great talks on the history of microscopy, current work ongoing at IGC and on the future of accessible microscopy platforms from Gaby G Martins Ricardo Henriques and Diana Morales

Building on this, students from @IGCiencia UCL and ChampalimaudResearch spoke on topics ranging from behavioural neuroscience to transcriptional regulation during cell division. To close this wonderful symposium we enjoyed a beer together while watching Portugal win at @EURO2024! 🇵🇹🔬

My first PhD student, co-supervised with NordenLab, is visiting the new lab! I'm so excited for the next two weeks. We will be setting up new imaging approaches for the first projects of the lab. Welcome to Münster, Catarina Figueiredo!
