Thread 1/3 What a night! Lewisham came together in style, in one of the largest Windrush celebrations in the UK. Marking 75 years since the arrival of the HMT Empire Windrush to a full-house at the Catford Broadway Theatre.

She travelled to the UK from Georgetown, Guyana at the age of 23. Raised 9 children, I can’t even count how many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lived in Camberwell, New Cross, Brockley and Catford. A true South Londoner 😂. And the food, ohh the food 😍

Knocked down lamp post. No one hurt. New style buses. Later informed that drivers did not know how to operate them on wet roads.

I can't think of another and yet Lewisham Council aims by 2030 to have up to 80% of all borough journeys made by bus, foot or cycle! Lewisham Cyclists

@wherethecatis Louise Krupski Lewisham Council Without the public highway bridge alternative to the polluted South Circular Rd to link to Catford Green [bear in mind that the Council still holds approx £1.5m in CIL funds from Barratts for it], then Catford Centre will remain dead. Top up funding must be sought.
